Daytrip to the Roman countryside
Enjoy a day exploring the Roman countryside area of Castelli Romani with visits to Castel Gandolfo, Nemi, and a Frascati Winery producing their well-known white wines.
This area is rich in imposing villas of the noble families of Rome who built their summer retreats in this scenic, cooler environment. Castel Gandolfo is a quaint town overlooking Lake Albano that is the site of the Pope’s summer residence and you’ll enjoy a relaxing walk to see the highlights with your guide. Continue to the beautiful little town of Nemi, known for its miniature strawberries, where you can try one of their special pastries and enjoy the encompassing views. Then, after a break for lunch (to be paid directly), enjoy a wine-tasting lesson at a local Frascati winery.
